MindSmack was contracted to design and develop a professional web site experience to help showcase Emanuel Pleitez’s achievements and policies to enhance the San Gabriel Valley and East Los Angeles in California. Here is a bit about the man:
Emanuel Pleitez was born and raised in the Eastside of Los Angeles. He is the oldest of two, raised by his single mother, Isabel Bravo, who immigrated from Mexico. He graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in El Sereno and earned his B.A. from Stanford University.
Emanuel currently serves as a member of the Obama-Biden Transition Team for the Treasury Department. As a Council Aide for then-Councilmember Antonio Villaraigosa, Emanuel organized El Sereno in the 32nd District to increase civic participation. Nationally, Emanuel worked under U.S. Senators Tom Daschle and Hillary Clinton on the Senate Democratic Steering and Coordination Committee. In the private sector, Emanuel has worked as a Financial Analyst in the Securities Division at Goldman Sachs.
As a first-generation college graduate, Emanuel is committed to increasing educational opportunity. As such, he has been involved with the Quest Scholars Program at Stanford to develop partnerships aimed at supporting the educational success of low-income high school students throughout the country. He also co-founded the Alumni Foundation at Woodrow Wilson High School.
Emanuel serves as a Board Member for a number of leading civic organizations including the Hispanic Heritage Foundation, Voto Latino, Creating Economic Opportunities for Women, and the Salvadoran American Leadership and Education Fund (SALEF).
Emanuel currently resides in El Sereno. He is engaged to Cynthia Carrasco, the daughter of immigrants and first-generation college and law school graduate.
