This was a cool project that we just launched called the WWE Flash Countdown Clock.
The clock is a Flash based countdown module to display on various sections of wwe.com.
Here are the features and requirements for this project that is currently online @ wwe.com:
Must not be creative/design dependant and easily adaptable to a variety of applications within wwe.com
- Flash 9 with using best practices AS2 (minimum)
- Provide a secondary version using AS3
- Easy method to change time / end date
- Easy method to change click thru link(s)
- Easy method to update graphics/creative post-countdown
Technical Requirements we worked within:
Uses server-side-time for their calculations. By using server-side-time, the end user is guaranteed to see an accurate countdown, independent of their local clock and time zone settings.
Implementation requirements:
- Flash application will make one “time” request per SWF (page) load
- Using action script, the flash application will calculate and display the appropriate count down time
- No code (other then the SWF) will be loaded onto WWE’s servers
Fun stuff! Check out http://www.WWE.com
